Our Mission

The business and purpose of this non-profit corporation is to improve the quality of life in Fergus, Golden Valley, Judith Basin, Musselshell, Petroleum and Wheatland Counties through comprehensive and coordinated efforts of local citizens, and to provide decision makers with technical information and the necessary access to resources to better manage and utilize the area's natural and human resources.

Our Vision

The Central Montana RC&D Council envisions a better quality of life for its citizens. Central Montana residents live in one of the most beautiful and pristine parts of the country. The aesthetics of the area are wonderful, but its citizenry struggle against low income and outmigration. The vision of the Central Montana RC&D Council is to improve the economic and social condition for people of the area by developing and carrying out an RC&D Area Plan for the orderly conservation, sustained proper use, improvement and development of the natural and human resources of the area. Central Montana RC&D will help our citizens achieve:

 - a sustainable economy;
 - high quality of life;
 - healthy rural communities with a strong sense of pride and commitment to building a better future;
 - strong, locally-owned agricultural operations with opportunities for value-added products;
 - sustainable and well-managed natural resources;
 - adequate infrastructure to support existing businesses and attract new businesses and industries.

Goals

To develop, use properly, conserve and improve the human and natural resources of the area in an orderly fashion with local leadership. To continually update the Central Montana RC&D Area Plan with new measure proposals that will enhance employment and other economic opportunities for the people of the area while protecting our natural resource base.
